We have been here in Japan for about 10 days. We have learned so much and have sooooo much more to learn. Some of what we have learned so far:
Doug learning to drive on the left hand side of the road - my turn is still coming. Yikes!!
To use a washer/dryer combo - with all Japanese instructions.
We've set up our Magic Jack phones so we can call our family whenever - and time it so they aren't in bed.
The right way to walk to church - the first time we got lost and the Bishop had to come find us.
Shopping with all Japanese writing and the help of pictures.
To understand and use Yen.
How to ride the train into Tokyo, Three trains each way - we only got on the wrong ones 2 of 6 trains!!
Garbage day is 5 days a week. Different garbage goes out each time!! We are still "sorting " it all out:)
We've also learned that this is a beautiful country with beautiful people. They are kind and gracious and gentle. We have learned so much from them already.
We are grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for Him providing us this experience. We feel very blessed. We have so much more to learn. It will come and we are happy to be having this experience.
So, we are planning a space-A trip there the week after Thanksgiving and we can dust off our Japan skills and help you :)
